Laura Marling is trying new things out with another new song on her North-American tour. She debuted this new song in Toronto, Canada yesterday. The text is quite hard to hear so I’m not going to try and make a guess at the lyrics, so any suggestions on this are appreciated. The new song did not appear on the setlist.

My attempt at the lyrics. There’s a few words I’m not sure of. Hopefully we’ll be able to fill in the gaps when there’s a clearer recording of the song.

You came here to tell me something I already know
Dark before the dawn is the darkest that you know
Calm before the storm is what leaves me here to breathe
So breathe
Breathe
(?) constant banging, throwing fists against the wall
Screaming at the Earth for what it’s done to one (?)
You came here to tell me something I already know
Just breathe
Breathe
How cruel I am to you
All the cruel things I do
How cruel you are to me
How cruel time can be
(?) constant burning, throwing fists against the wall
Screaming at the Earth for what it’s done to one you know
I wrote you a book but I left it out in the rain
So breathe
Breathe
How cruel I am to you
How cruel the things I do
How cruel you are to me
How cruel time can be
When you wake you’ll know I’m gone
Where I’m going there’s no one
So don’t follow me
Whatever you may hear or see
(x2)
Don’t follow me
Whatever you may hear or see
